Description of WorK: Marine Corps Base Quantico/Fuel Storage
Tank Rehabilitation, Aboveground Fuel Tank and Fuel Dispensing System
Installation, and Underground Fuel Storage Tank Closure.
Summary:
Beaumon
Industries, Inc. was contracted by the Naval Facilities Engineering
Command (NAVFAC Washington, D.C.) to perform a fuel storage tank
installation and removal contract. Beaumon's successfully
completed the required work which entailed the following contract
provisions:
- Rehabilitation
of six 10,000-gallon aboveground storage tanks including sandblasting,
and priming and surface finishing.
- Construction
of two reinforced concrete fuel tank pad/foundation.
- Transport,
craning and placement of two 10,000 gallon, doublewall steel aboveground
tanks.
- Installation
of fuel dispensing and monitoring systems and spill/overfill prevention
devices on 2 aboveground storage tanks.
- Installation
of stainless steel piping systems for E-85 alternative fuel aboveground
tanks.
- Closure-in-place
of one 10,000-gallon underground storage tank system and one 6,000-gallon
underground storage tank system precluding the analysis of required
groundwater samples for use by state/federal regulating agencies.
Contract
Description of WorK: Virginia National Park Service/General
construction of two asphalt parking areas, a concrete foundation
for a granite monument, a shredded recycled rubber surfaced path,
and installation of interpretive signs and associated work.
Summary:
The
Beaumon/ERC Team was contracted by the National Park Service (NPS)
to construct the Vermont Monument Historical Site. The Contract
required Beaumon/ERC to perform the following construction services:
- Construction
of two parking lots, the main one being 20,000 square feet and
the adjacent lot being 10,000 square feet.
- Development
of the Monument site for the NPS to set the Monument.
- Installation
of 4,000 square feet of a rubber mulch walking trail, and the
development of an additional 1,500 linear feet of natural turf
trail.
In order
to complete the project, Beaumon/ERC was tasked with conducting
the following construction related activities:
- Clearing
and grubbing of heavily wooded areas within which the parking
lots and monument were to be constructed.
- Site
engineering and stake out to assure proper storm water management
of the soon to be impervious parking lot areas.
- Excavation
and removal of existing soils to prepare the site for proper parking
lot subgrade and asphalt.
- Rough
grading and fine grading the site in preparation of gravel subgrade
placement.
- Placement,
compaction and fine grading of gravel sub-base.
- Construction
of 1,500 linear feet of taupe colored concrete curb.
- Construction
of 7,500 square feet of sand bedded, brick, herringbone pattern
sidewalks.
- Placement
of 800 tons of base course asphalt at a 4" uniform thickness.
- Placement
of 400 tons of surface course asphalt at a 2" uniform thickness.
- Placement
and fine grading of topsoil, seeding and landscaping on non-surfaced
areas within the construction area.
- Parking
lot painting and installation of traffic control signs and NPS
historical interpretive signs.
The
Beaumon/ERC Team successfully completed the project to the total
satisfaction of the client within 38 calendar days of the notice
to proceed work.
